Our Services

Mulching/Topping

Our rotary shredder is great for those wanting a neat, uniformly mulched finish to their grass. Perfect for grazing paddocks and amenity areas as the grass breaks down faster and more evenly, or it will also handle scrubland and stubble where the material is stemmy.

Mowing will increase grass density and reduce weeds. Paddocks that are out of control can be 'topped' and brought back to a manageable condition quickly.

Overseeding & Reseeding

Old grass leys or poached areas and gateways can be rejuvenated by overseeding with our grass harrow mounted spreader. Best carried out in spring or autumn, this will help to re-establish a good sward of grass.

We can can supply a variety of seeds according to your requirements, or alternatively apply the customer's own.

Amenity and Large Lawn Mowing

We also offer mowing of large gardens, estates, general amenity areas and event fields with our ride on mowing equipment. We can mulch or collect the grass depending on your requirements.

Grass Harrowing

Harrowing is great for the renovation of grass sward after winter. It helps to remove thatch, dead grass and shallow rooted weeds from the base of healthy grasses and provide root aeration; for better water infiltration and growth. Chain harrows are superior for levelling poached ground, mole hills and spreading/breaking up muck; whereas spring tine harrows are great at pulling out thatch, moss and chickweed from thicker grassland.

Fertiliser Spreading

We can spread granular or prilled fertilisers and lime using our tractor mounted 'wagtail' spreader, to feed your grass and help it get going in the spring for a 'fuller' sward.

Please note we are not currently VAT registered, so if you wish to provide your own then we are happy to apply it.

Muck Heap Removal

Those who have horses also have manure. If you need it removed, we can move it with our loader and 6 tonne trailer and compost it for reuse.

We can also offer tractor and trailer services for moving stone, soil etc.

JSA Log Splitter.jpg

Log Splitting

If you have large logs from fallen trees, we can split them up into manageable pieces ideal for a log burner or open fire with our 20T log splitter, hydraulically driven off the tractor.

We can also supply firewood, subject to availability.

Rolling

Rolling generally goes after harrowing grassland, to help level poached ground, consolidate grass roots back into the soil, and push down any rocks and debris back into the ground that may damage mowers and machinery.

On it's own (or as well); it 'bruises' the grass making it come back with vigor making it tiller... an added benefit is it makes your pasture look stripey!

Aerating

Grassland can easily become compacted by vehicles, livestock and even wet winters. Aerating (aka slitting) helps relieve compaction by perforating and 'shattering' the soil structure to allow air, water and nutrients to get to the grass roots. This helps the roots grow deeper producing a stronger, more vigorous sward. It will also considerably reduce water and fertiliser run-off.
